subject: telix doorway mode

On 18 Feb 98 19:35:04, a Gin and Tonic at the Angler's Rest overheard
Gordon Preete say to Pete Granzeau:
PG>If you need it, you need it. If you don't need it, don't sweat it.
GP>HI Pete...know since I'm knot a SysOp of a BBS and I don't use all my
GP>Alt-key commands in telix..ok..So your saying in the statement above if
GP>I understand right...with other computer hook-up to you come enter the
GP>doorway mode if it's turn on and see that's on your HD if the other
GP>person know how to use the Alt-key commands to jump to dos on your
GP>computer in telix. See I like to try this with a friend of my who I
GP>truth knot to del a thing on my HD after he pass through the
GP>doorway..which he use to run telix at one time a was a SysOp to of his
GP>BBS..Maybe you answer my question about the doorway mode in telix and I
GP>just haven't seen it in your statement above or your didn't answer the
GP>question the way I was hoping to be answer..I real don't know..:)
Doorway mode is when you are on your computer, running something on the
computer you have called. If I am on my computer, and a game I am playing
on the BBS requires me to give it an Alt-Z, I can't send that with Telix,
unless I am in doorway mode. That's the whole point of doorway mode. To
permit you to send keystrokes that would normally be control keys for
Telix, to whoever you have called.
If you have a friend who deletes things on other people's computers, I
would NEVER permit him to call my computer, for any reason. Or within a
hundred yards of my computer, for that matter.
