I've been working on a program I call AutoFTP for about 4 months now.
It sounds as though my program is what you could use.  The main
features include:
- Graphical user interface
- Automatic, uses definable events
- Uses very little CPU power
- Can be run all the time
- Small EXE
- Binkleyterm mode for fido related tranfers (autodetected)
- Easy to use
- Full logging
