I'm using a Newcom 33.6 I bought for $40 new, from Surplus Direct...
A little math reveals a 71.4% performance boost, at 722% of the price.

If you're dead-set on spending that kind of money, go for ISDN. May not even 
be that expensive if you get one of those "we'll install for free if you'll 
contract with us" deals.
