Not totally true (Alzheimer patients interacting).  I've been to a nursing
home with a friend to visit a relative who was in an advanced state, did
not know anyone was there in the room, didn't react, but just talked
randomly. She had to be feed by nurses.

On your example, I have no clue which way to go.  In my mind, this whole
situation is far more complicated, and bears far more thought,
consideration.

My person definition of "life support", are machines required to
breath, and sustain life.  If the body is able to do all that on it's own,
I don't consider feeding either by a human, or feeding tube falling under
the category of life support.  Others probably have a different definition.
That's mine though.
