That is a truly scarry thought. I'll trust my family over strangers on
these decisions, and having known on a personal level many doctors in
business dealings and social matters, Doctors wouldn't even make the top
ten on my list of who decides too pull the plug. I'm not saying the
decision makers shouldn't consult doctors for their opinions, I'm just
saying I wouldn't give them the final authority to decide for me or any of
my family. Doctors are strange in many ways. Casualty of their jobs.
People die around them all the time, if you don't become warped by it as a
self defense mechanism you'd go bonkers. Instead they go bonkers in a
different way, often.

But if my family went nuts together and conspired to knock me off for my
money (assuming I had any) then the judge's in most states (i.e. not the
idiots in Florida) wouldn't have any trouble intervening, provided somebody
was around to bring it to their attention. If not, its good bye Gary for
raising such a bunch of losers who want to conspire to murder him.

No they can do a LOT more than just rely on medical professionals.

No point except making sure the judge personally agrees with the
conclusions/guesses in the so called reports before killing her. No point
except making sure the doctors and ad-litems didn't behave in an
incompetent manner and phone in their examination. Then again, can't
bother the judge to make sure before he kills her. Just rubber stamp a
report from some doctor who is completely callous to life after working
around death and suffering for so long. Not for me thanks.

Watching Terri interact with her parents, brother, and sister for many
hours at a time can tell one more about Terri and the value of her life
than any doctors report, but there's no point to the judge wanting all
points of view before killing her. If the PVS box is checked on the
doctors form, then swing that rubber stamp and off with her head.

Gary
