Because whatever prebiotic processes,
and monomers first had to survive the sun,
we first should test what survives the
sun cycle and how.
And we should note if they survive by
stable properties in their own makeup, or by
the more likely way of somehow linking together
with other monomers in more complex
and stable forms***
That is the place to start origin experiments.
And more specifically I would keep in mind
UV absorbing nucleic acids and to a lesser
extent proteins due to their relationship to
the sun/UV cycle.
_____
*** If the world of nucleic acids and
proteins did not work together
in a way that made both more stable
in that environment at the start,
then why would they come together later?
"Evolution does not anticipate needs,"
and neither does the sun selection
or chemical selection that preceded it.
