Kurt,
You'll have to forgive me, I thought you have been fooling around with
PC Clone computers from about day one when IBM released the PC XT.
When I was at work and the boss put his 'old' Zenith 286 in our
building and retired the XT Clone we had been using, I thought
since it had a faster CPU clock speed and it was a Zenith that I'd
like it better, but I didn't.
The 286 seemed to operate real slow compared to how the XT had been
doing.
It was running the same program to make and send our River Reports
as we used on the XT but it seemed to take forever assembling the
data before it would dial up and send the report to the Server
When the boss's 386 got replaced and he put it in our building,
I thought I was in Hog Heaven because it had DOS 3.3 in it.
I can't remember what year(s) it was when we got to use those PC's,
but using them and reading the manuals that came with them, helped
me when I decided I wanted a 486DX33 with DOS 5.0 for myself.
Of course reading the Computer Shopper magazine(s) helped some too.
... Have you checked your smoke detector batteries, LATELY?!
