Depends on what model Courier you want. If you insist on Austel approved,
there is no longer any local (Qld) modem dealer I can recommend, but if you
don't mind buying direct from USR, here are their contact details...

====================================
USRobotics Customer Support Services
====================================
USR BBS ............... 847-982-5092
Fax on Demand ......... 800-762-6163
CompuServe ........... GO USROBOTICS
Internet ........... support{at}usr.com
Hotline ............... 800-550-7800
Fax ................... 847-982-0823

You can also use their 800 numbers by changing the prefix to 880, but it
will NOT be a free call (i.e. 0011-1-880-550-7800). The best way to order
one is probably via the Sysop door on their BBS.

The US sysop price on a Courier is US$249 plus US$10 shipping (credit cards
accepted for purchase). The modem supplied will be the V.Everything, and
is fitted with a small brass plate which states that the modem is "not
for resale". This plate is also easily removable. :)

Be advised that if you do import one, you'll be stung another 22% sales tax
on the landed cost in A$. Still much cheaper than local prices though,
given the current exchange rate of around US$0.79 per A$1.00.

TL> Would it be cheaper to buy a USR ex tax, or with a sysop deal ? And one
TL> last question ... Roughly how much are they retailing for these days ?

Local RRP is around A$799 although street prices are considerably less.

As far as I know, there is currently no local sysop deal on USRs, although
some dealers may be prepared to give you a reasonable discount anyway.
Best thing to do is ring a few and ask. Sorry I can't help more.

Regards, Bill
