Choose the better origin scenario:

1. Chemicals have a mission.
They want to get to first replicator - 
where then and only then can they begin to adapt
to the enviornment that they've been developing 
in up till that point. 
For no conceivable reason
they have miraculously survived unscathed from
that environment - the very environment that 
they are not adapted to in any way, 
during perhaps a million year grace period.
Are they lucky or what?

2. Chemicals that aren't destroyed in the environment,
sun - heat cycle, survive because they are better
adapted to their environment (sun selection) and
are not destroyed.  These chemicals are further
selected (chemical selection) because they have
the novel ability to use the sun-heat energy
to even better adapt to their environment.
(Two most notable examples of this chemical selection
are metabolism and replication)
