In most situations, Terry would have been described as
"uncomfortable" and given lots of morphine "to keep her
comfortable". That happens all the time. The morphine may shorten
life, but it certainly eases the pain of starvation.
In this case, I think there was too much public voyeurism, so I'm sure her
docs felt a bit hamstrung. She probably had a worse death in consequence.
