It looked good on my resumes, and that's about it. Remember the sub that grounded in La Maddelena two years ago? Her Assistant Navigator, a NavET, was out of the control room trying to reboot/fix their wham-o-dyne electronic navigation/GPS system. Now former IC (Interior Communications), also merged with NavET, are becoming ANAV. That is really scary-- at least a "real" NavET has *some* navigation training/inclination! FWIW, I was ANAV as a QM1 on the USS U.S. Grant, and qualified ANAV (but had a QMC filling the billet) on the USS Springfield. And I never ran aground ;) -- Steve http://www.qmss.com/sewing --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
