I downloaded the new beta Wednesday, and discovered that the bug which
was locking up my modem is a known bug.  It's in the README file that
comes with the beta flash.  If a user hangs up during a retrain, the
modem can lock up.  This is supposedly fixed in a past beta, but is
still in the current production code.
If you're experiencing lockups which leave "RT" on your modem's display,
it may be advisable to try the beta code.
My only gripe with the beta code so far is that it's hard to load!  I
tried it from {Commo} several times.  I tried it from BinkleyTerm
2 times.  Finally, I tried it from DSZ, shelled out from {Commo}.  It
took on the 2nd attempt when I did this.  All previous attempts were
aborted by my terminal program because of NAK errors.
