The Schiavo case has horrified many people. Unlike Gary B, who seems so
certain of his position, I can't see any good outcome in a case like this.
About all I could conclude is that one outcome is less appalling than
another.

As technology develops, and society gets more complex, we can look forward
to more of these No Win conflicts. There is a particularly agonising twist
developing in Melbourne.

Outline: Man puts wife in boot of car. Quite a long time later, she is
rescued but does not regain consciousness. She has been on life support for
a couple of months, and the family are facing the 'When Will We Turn It
Off' decision.

Meanwhile, the husband and girlfriend are under arrest.

Can it get worse? The family thinks they want to withdraw life support. The
husband is fighting it with all his resources because if the wife dies he
faces a murder charge!
