Hmm.. I run CID and FD 2.20, with a 33.6i running the 1.400-22 Flashrom.
My Init String is this:
at&f2b1l0s9=20s10=45s23=62sw2s95=175&q5&d2#cid=1&w&w1
(Type it in in a Terminal program, then Use ATZ as your init in FD).
I have my ldfrs set to 20, and the other two Init strings in the FD setup set
up for BGfax.  (I had to write a custom program to decode the Canadian Caller
ID system) But the whole system works perfectly.  I can connect with 
vertually every modem that attempts to connect with me.
