That was not my experience of that music.  Disco for me was "The cool
people are dancing, having a good time, enjoying life and having sex.  Not
you.  Never you. You don't have the right clothes, the right hair or the
right anything. You should go away."

I went through late grade school and junior High during the disco era, and
a lot of Junior High School is about people forming cliques and striving to
exclude anyone who doesn't fit.  I didn't fit,  and was told in so many
words that social life during this time had no opening for me.

I didn't know it, but at this same time Punk was beng born,  and that's
really more my speed.

Punk can be very up and very perky, or very angry.  But Punk is never slow.
