Where are the tar.gz versions? ;-) I haven't looked at any of these yet and it might be a couple of days before that happens, but I already know that some conversion is going to happen to at least make the archives more Linux friendly. I am also betting the documentation will need to be filtered to rid them of DOS-think. The bonus to that is that it reduces file sizes without any compression and furthermore if later gzipped even greater savings are achieved. Too bad Fido never considered things like this given that ridding DOS-think from messages reduces them by more or less 60% without compression. That might make my additional two bytes on the MSGID a more attractive sell. Heh, heh. I'd like to see if something like the above can be achieved with the JAM format or if there might have to be a major overhaul to eliminate DOS-think from it. What do you think? Worth looking into?
