CT> Hello, I have a couple of suggestions regarding this which might
CT> assist the owner of this store to think differently.
CT>
PG> Thanks for your suggestions. The animal control folks basically said,
PG> "we have to take his word that it's ok, unless you can show us
PG> something that says that this practice is unhealthy."
PG>
CT> I called here the ANimal Control as I wanted to know what would help
CT> with this agrument. Nothing, till one of the birds are dead, or a
CT> letter from a Avian VEt with the concerns of dehydration/starvation
CT> for the weaning ages...or a dead bird which would cause them to look
CT> into hiring a Vet for Necropsy with dehydration.
CT>
CT> This is the reason I posted to get on her side and try to convince her
CT> of making it easier for her to wean, or fuller better looking bodies,
CT> feathers. To convince her there is a better way.
CT>
CT> I'm not surprised with learning this as some of the breeders wait
CT> three days before feeding and watering. I dont' know what they think
CT> the majic number is in doing this. They do not think birds have a
CT> need for food and water.
CT>
CT> Again, this is the reason I posted the newspaper, clubs and your local
CT> vets to approach as this means publicity in a way that she would not
CT> like to have spread around. The breeders who do care for their babies
CT> are NOT going to sell to her or they'll confront her about how she is
CT> with her live animals/birds.
CT>
CT> The power of words , I have found to be remarkable as I learned this
CT> with the loss of mine some years back.
CT>
CT> Keep me informed and I'll have one more avenue as the Amimal Voice
CT> founder is my neighbor.
I'm trying to work the problem. If only I didn't have the fulltime job that
keeps me away from home 12 hours a day!
