VC> I bet you have a Telecom T200 phone plugged in at your house? This is wh VC> causing your problem with the 15-20mins garbage/disconnection problem. R VC> the phone and see if the problem disappears. I bet it does. If it does t VC> the phone to your local Telecom Business office and ask to exchange it f VC> later modem T200 phone that doesn't cause problems with modems. This onl VC> applies if you are renting the phone though. Thanx Vicki - I will try your suggestion although I suspect the problem goes a little deeper. I have found that Portinfo V1.0 indicates that the internal card is assigned to Comm 4 OK but gives its address as 2E8 which is the address normally allocated by DOS to Comm 3. This, it appears creates an IRQ conflict with Comm 1 which is allocated to my mouse driver. Nothing I have tried seems to resolve this problem. Assigning the address 3E8 to Comm 4 with Dos_Com V1.0 seems to work OK but then Portinfo still "sees" Comm 4 at address 2E8 and again reports an inability to generate interrupts. Is it likely that this is causing, or perhaps compounding the problem? - regards Chi --- * MikeMayl v1.0 * --- FLAME v1.1* Origin: Braintap BBS Health & Lifestyle +61-8-239-0497 (3:800/4 (3:800/449) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 624/300 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 SEEN-BY: 712/515 713/888 714/906 800/1 2 409 414 415 427 442 448 449 451 805 SEEN-BY: 800/806 809 810 811 816 822 841 843 846 858 850/100 @PATH: 800/449 1 711/808 934 |
