On Australia (Microsoft Network, Australia) was originally a joint venture
between Telstra and Microsoft. Telstra bought it all when MSN was
officially admitted by Microsoft to be a Dumb, Dead Idea.

Telstra can't buy out all the Internet providers because anyone with their
own non-Telstra connection out of the country can operate without Telstra
being able to monitor them.
