GS>>Wouldn't it be less dangerous to just steal them with a tow truck?
TR> Where do you live? You don't appear to be familiar with some aspects of
TR> criminal behavior here in the US.
GS>Germany.
Beautiful place. I was there in the military in the mid-1960's. The people
who lived in rural areas were wonderful friendly people. I enjoyed the
traditional dress they wore sometimes. There were actual cobblestone streets
in some of the smaller towns. I wondered at people hanging their bedding out
the upstairs windows to air every day except Sunday. And on Saturdays the men
all came out and hosed and scrubbed the streets!
I got there just before Fasching started. Lots of fun.
GS> And basically all you can do with a stolen car here, is
GS>disassembling it and selling spare parts or by one that's completely
GS>burnt, repaint the chassis and put all the stolen parts into it. But hey,
GS>if you're willing to be a machanic all day long, there's no need for
GS>criminal action.
TR> Belt-fed machine guns are rare and not usually the
TR> weapon of choice of street criminals. typically they are armed with
TR> handguns or a semi-auto rifle.
GS>Why? Is it, because they're easier to get?
You have to go through a pretty rigid licensing process to own a fully
automatic weapon.
Firearms are easy to come by legally, although in some areas of America its
pretty hard to get one.
I've never had any problem buying firearms, not even here in California.
TR> You're right. I could just choose to be completely unarmed, helpless,
TR> and a willing and ready `victim'. Just stand there and let some
TR> scum-sucker shoot me and take my vehicle.
GS>Why would they shoot you if you're unarmed?
Here in this country they shoot you for anything. No reason needed. I prefer
to be armed and responsible for my own immediate safety.
TR> Thats the way `sheep' live. Are you a `sheep'? I'm not. I choose to be
TR> prepared and take responsibility for my own safety.
GS>Sheep don't "just stand there", sheep run away. And they do that, because
GS>running away gives them a better chance of survival.
I don't `run away'. That only encourages the attacker to become bolder.
Running away is not an option to me.
