Hi Gordon,
There seems to be no end to this thread concerning the use of
Marshall Dudleys DOORWAY PROGRAM.
Perhaps an example may help.
If I leave home and know I may want to have access to my computer via
telephone.... I can leave TELIX in QDHOST. Then, should I
call my computer, log in and then select "DOORWAY", QDHOST shells to DOS and
the DOORWAY PROGRAM. I then have remote control of my home computer as if I
were at its keyboard. I would do this mainly to move some file I needed into
the download directory in order to receive it at whatever location I was
calling from. When I have
finished my transaction I "EXIT" the shell and the home computer
returns to QDHOST, waiting for another call.
Of course this explanation assumes an understanding of the "HOST" mode.
The following is from the the FILE-ID of Doorway;
DOORWAY revision 2.22. This program allows
both BBS's to add normal programs to BBS's
as DOORS, and provides a shareware
alternative to expensive commercial programs
for remote accessing of a home or office
computer.

Second, you may call the support BBS, and go into the DOORWAY registration
door (DOOR 18), which will allow you to register your software on-line in
only a couple of minutes. After verification, you will receive your
registration number while you wait. Be sure and have either your VISA,
MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, or AMEX card handy before entering the door.
Lastly, you can call (voice) the DOORWAY ORDER LINE. In the US you can call
1-800-OPN-DRWY (1-800-676- 3799). This number is strictly an order line. Tech
support cannot and will not be offered on this line. Tech support is offered
at 615-966-3667.
A BBS *may* use this "shell out" to vector into a game or menu of
games....whatever.
'Sure hopes this helps.....RE
