By this logic, James, *any* time we point out inequities in the manner in
which we are treated could be interpreted in this manner.  I know plenty
of sighted folks who believe that any blind student at a competitive
university or any blind person at a "real" (their word) job is a token and
is their at the chrity of the company, individual or institution.  In
their view, charges of discrimination, bad services, etc. are mere
complaints, and we're just ungrateful, pitiable souls who have empty lives
and nothing to complain about.  I should add that this is true of all
marginalized groups, and we are not going to reach these people, no matter
what the issue.  We are going to reach those who think and are able to
distinguish a complaint from pointing out the discrimination in our
society.
Of course, we could cross a line in spending time on more trivial stuff,
and certainly this is a lesser prority than outright, personal
discrimination, but such reinforcements *contribute* to outright personal
discrimination, and at the very oleast, people must be made aware that at
least some blind people find it highly objectionable.
