Yeah, I just built a quick script that will compile any modules I need for
each kernel (VMware and Virtual Box). That way, all I have to do is reboot
into the new kernel and run the script. I don't need to remember the
commands needed to do it, which would be a real problem with me.
ndiswrapper would be a good example of this. BTW, what wireless chipset is
it? Seems like part of the problem has been having the firmware files
available without having to download them (kind of a problem when you don't
have a connection). I've noticed that the newer OSes are shipping many of
these files so that things have a better chance of working. I guess
someone has been working on getting the legalese worked out (not a problem
if the driver is supplied by the manufacturer, as is done with Windows).

I've seen this with ABC's streaming shows. It tells me that they only
support Windows and Mac. So, I installed a user agent switcher into
Firefox and set it to report itself as IE7 under Vista. Then it tells me I
need Flash 8 to view the content although I have Flash 9 installed. Maybe
I just need to come up with a different user agent (Firefox under XP or
Mac?). Of course, ABC could just take a little extra time to make it work
with Linux...

Ok, I won't do it again, I promise! ;)

Is it any wonder that we have a show called "Are You Smarter Than A 5th
Grader" and a President who isn't? Alan Shore in "Boston
Legal"
