That way, all I have to do is reboot into the new kernel and run the script. I don't need to remember the commands needed to do it, which would be a real problem with me. ndiswrapper would be a good example of this. BTW, what wireless chipset is it? Seems like part of the problem has been having the firmware files available without having to download them (kind of a problem when you don't have a connection). I've noticed that the newer OSes are shipping many of these files so that things have a better chance of working. I guess someone has been working on getting the legalese worked out (not a problem if the driver is supplied by the manufacturer, as is done with Windows). So, I installed a user agent switcher into Firefox and set it to report itself as IE7 under Vista. Then it tells me I need Flash 8 to view the content although I have Flash 9 installed. Maybe I just need to come up with a different user agent (Firefox under XP or Mac?). Of course, ABC could just take a little extra time to make it work with Linux...
