The self powered LED torch is a work of utter genius.

It means that the torch is always charged/chargeable.

E.g. wrt Kids...."Don't play with the torch..." never works &
eventually, the lights go out & then 20 get 20 seconds of a dim glow as
you realise children have played with your torch..

Also you can determine the level of charge & thus brightness. e.g. I was
 replacing the mobo & cpu on the PC in my loft (my main router/inet
server etc). There is a light in the loft but...long shadows etc.

My wind up torch was superb. Really need to see? Get cranking while leaving
the lights on & the damn thing almost turns into a lazer...
