On 03-23-09, BOB ACKLEY said to TIM RICHARDSON: BA>Replying to a message of TIM RICHARDSON to JOHN FITZGERALD: TR> When Geraldine Feraro ran as Mondale's vice-president choice, there TR> wasn't any of this spit-spewing hatred of her present, either before TR> or after the campaign which she and Mondale lost. TR> I seem to recall she was treated with respect and courtesy. BA>ISTR the same. TR> The hatred began against Palin almost immediately. BA>That's what 20 years of hate radio has done to political discourse in this BA>country. That plus the anonymity of posting on blogs and web sites, BA>people can and do say things via computer that they would not say in an BA>ordinary conversation - especially an ordinary conversation (or debate) BA>with a person being talked about. The democrat `dirt-digging' squad got busy on Palin almost before her acceptance speech was finished. It wasn't more than a day or so before stuff started being publically nosed about: The child wasn't hers it was her daughters, and she was just covering for her; She'd had an affair with some friend of her husband; Her daughter was pregnant and wasn't married; (which, by the way, was true, but none of anyone's business, and certainly not a political issue.) And on and on and on. If one of Hussein Obama's daughters been pregnant and unmarried, not one word would have been uttered about it. Palin didn't deserve the filth that came her way for no other reason than she was running on the republican ticket. Until this last presidential campaign, I'd never even heard the name `Palin', didn't know Alaska had a woman governor, and I strongly suspect a large part of the voting public outside Alaska didn't either. --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 226/0 249/303 250/306 SEEN-BY: 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 SEEN-BY: 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 SEEN-BY: 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
