Same here and I never ever found a fix, unless one of the fixpaks has done
it and I never noticed? I got into the habit of disabling that switch and
rebooting before attempting to run selective install. Sorry I cant be more
help.

But worse than that, the Merlin beta totally crashes on every boot with /ET
enabled... hope they get it fixed for the release!
