DR> I took Honey to the vet last week. She is in excellent health. She
DR> didn't like getting her blood drawn for the feline leukemia test, but
DR> was a brave kitty. I petted her and cooed her through it. The test
DR> turned out negative. Yay! I have a healthy and happy baby! She has
Excellent news! But remember, childhood immunizations are
only part of parenting. You still have to teach her to look
both ways before crossing the street, not to talk to
strangers when you aren't around, how to ride a bicycle...no,
wait. That's what you have to teach children of the Servant
Species (that is, people).
Honey probably already knows all she needs to be a happy cat.
And she'll teach you everything she thinks you need to know.
DR> to go back for her second set of shots on the ninth of March. Wonder
DR> if I can convince her to get back into the cat carrier.
Meko's an adult cat (2 years), but she doesn't seem to mind
the cat carrier at all -- at least, not if I open it once we're
underway so she can look out while we're driving. Then again,
there is no such thing as a "normal cat", so Honey may either
fight to stay out of the carrier or sulk for hours after you
get home. Take along a few treats or one of her favorite toys,
and line the bottom of the carrier with something soft that
has your scent on it (I use a hand-towel) so she will be able
to cuddle up with it.
