MP>Why does everyone have such a difficult time understanding this? There
MP>are a lot of people, including ones I am related to, who equate legally
MP>owning a gun to being a violent person. Most people I know who own them
MP>are law-abiding, and many of them have more respect for law enforcement
MP>that the gunless lefties. Go figure.
There are people who've known me for decades who don't even know I own
firearms.
And nobody around here knows that I sometimes carry one in my pants pocket
depending on where I'm going in the car. It really isn't safe in some areas
out here, and a person my age is considered an easy target for a car hijacking
or a robbery. they happen all the time. I watch where I park, rarely go out in
the car after dark, keep a shotgun near the door as I live in a rural area
with few neighbors, and don't wander far from the house on foot.
The nearest cop is about 40 minutes or more in response to a 911 call out here
in this area. It's the sheriff's department and this is a big county.
A .44 special or a 12 guage is a whole lot quicker.
