You are being selective in your reading. You called British medicine
socialist ... I was pointing out that there is a healthy
segment that is quite capitalist.

As for rich Canadians heading south ... when Tom and June (good friends of
V) head south for the winter they have to buy US medical insurance so that
(as has happened) when they need medical care they can be treated. The
rich aren't forced to leave the country for medical care: they are taking
appropriate prudent measures to cover the financial burden for those
occasions when they do need it outside Canada. There are, no doubt,
occasions when people electively choose to use US medical facilities for
treatment. It's always big news here -- particularly in the National Post
-- but it's because it's a variation from the norm and nothing more.

As for your 1.07 years difference .. that's between the capitalistic US and
the /capitalist/socialist UK. When you look at the differences between the
capitalist US and the socialist Canada the gap grows to 1.84 years.

As for what I'm saying, again you are being rather disingenuous,
tendentiously so, it would appear.
