One uses one or more utilities to create the ASCII file from the
binary file. The easiest procedure for all is to use those which
produce Debug scripts (and come with a brief instruction to edit
the text file then use Debug < filename.ext to create the binary
file). UUencoding is more effecient than straight Debug encoding;
and there's a header which can be added that will first create the
UUdecoding file in memory then run it to decode the UUencoded part.
These procedures have commonly been used in the Batpower echo for
batch-enhancing utilities of modest size.
