subject: Tone board for a Kenwood 7950?

Thanks Robert, I may have found the real McCoy. A message from another ham
said it was a TU-79. Funny thing is that I don't see any place to plug it
in. Don't think that it is in there, when you press the tone selection button
it allows you to pick 1,2 or 3. Doesn't seem to do anything though. Guess I
might need to look a little harder. Thanks again! 73 de N3WJA

Subj: R: Tone board for a Kenwood 7950?

The Tu-79 tone encoder has a row of diodes for each tone, theses are
in lu of a dip switch and it plugs into the 7950-30 radios on the under
side via j5 with a 7 wire cable that comes to front of radio to topside
where in the right front via 2 diagonal holes the modual is mounted.

there is plenty of room to mount a csp-32 tone encode=decoder inside,
is you need the schematic, i have the manual that covers both units.

Thanks for the reply Charles. I think I need to look a little closer at the
radio and see if I can see something that looks like it. I don't see a place
to plug one in, it might already be in there. Wouldn't be the first time I
missed seeing something that was there (HiHi>. 73 de N3WJA
