FR> Yeah, I just got another message stating the same: Newman played
FR> Harper. Guess I was wrong on that. Was that during Newman's "H"
FR> period? with HONDO and HUD?
Sam Elliot played John D.MacDonald's "Travis McGee" in a movie by the same
name in 1983; it was, as you said, based on the book, "The Empty Copper
Sea." Paul Newman played Ross MacDonald's "Lew Harper" in a movie called
"Harper," in 1966; it was based on the book, "The Moving Target." 10 years
later - in 1976 - he again played "Lew Harper" in a sequel entitled, "The
Drowning Pool," based on the book by the same name.
"ud" was from 1963, "ombre" and "arry and Son" (which you did not
mention) were in 1967 and 1984, respectively. "Hondo" was actually a John
Wayne movie from 1953. :)
Hope you will find this information useful.
