Hello Ian,

I had the same problem setting up MultiMail for my wife. Her computer
is running Windows 95osr2. Part of the problem was the path names.
For some reason, MultiMail didn't like pathnames that were longer than 8
characters. I had originally set the install directory as MultiMail.
I had the same problem as you did. I wound up installing to d:\mmail
instead of d:\MultiMail, and modifying the mmail.rc file accordingly.
I also placed the editor I wanted to use in the d:\mmail directory.
The last thing I did was to copy the mmail.rc file to the c:\windows
directory. Then things started to work.

DS> I'd also guess that someplace you might need to give textpad the

IH> Tried that too, putting %1 both inside and outside the quotes.
 IH> Same lack of success.

%1 is not needed.

IH> So, after reading the FAQ about using batch files to call a spell
IH> checker, I wrote a little batch files

 IH> F:
 IH> call F:\Program Files\Textpad 4\textpad.exe

DS> Put quotes around the path name here also.

IH> Tried that, equally with and without %1.
 IH> Still got nowhere.

IH> It's a bit frusrating, really, as Textpad works really well with any
IH> other application that can use an external editor.

IH> I'm hoping that one of the Multimail gurus reads this and can put their

I don't claim to be a MultiMail guru, just someone who has been there,
done that. :)

I hope that you have equal success.

Stephen
