It's actually cheaper to _buy_ oil than to invade a country and take

Indeed.  Saudi would have been an easier target, and they have more
oil!  Or we could have stayed in Kuwait.  Canada and Mexico have big
deposits, and long borders with the US.

Yet, people still think we invade countries for oil.
