| subject: | LFNs in DJGPP |
Not to disparage Auke's recent work on the subject, but for those of you who use DJGPP, I'd just like to point out that VFAT's long file names are already supported by the standard library. In other words, you can compile DOS programs with DJGPP, using ANSI functions, and they'll automatically make use of LFNs when running under Windows 9x. I discovered this by accident; if it's documented anywhere, I couldn't find it. ... I'm Quayle of Borg.
