subject: Re: How to worsen the illegal alien problem

From: "Glenn Meadows"

For those that don't know, TNCare was introduced as a replacement for
Medicaid here in TN, back during the great debate about what became knows
as "Hillary Care". The TNCare model was based on the then
proposed Hillary Care national health care program. At this point, it's
very close to bankrupting the State here. Gov. Bredesen, after trying to
work with various activist groups that have blocked all attempts to get
illegal enrollees off the system, announced that he was scrapping the
entire system, and moving the state back to Medicaid. That brought on a
flurry of lawsuits blocking that move.

There are people using TnCare to take kids to the ER who have shampoo in
their eyes. One actual case, was a lady who had "stomach
cramps", called an ambulance, took her to the ER, and she asked for a
Pregnancy test, all paid for by TnCare. There are people who ask for
prescriptions for Tylenol, so that they can get it for free, instead of
paying for it. There are NO co-pays for Dr. or Prescription drugs. The
typical TnCare recipient is getting 12 prescriptions per year. That's 12
different prescriptions per year, not 1 a month, 12 a month.

Yes, there are people who NEED the care, who can't afford it, or don't
qualify. BUT, there are 10's of thousands of people who are VERIFIED on
the TnCare roles, who have access to insurance where they work, but opt
out, and then get a letter stating that they are unable to obtain insurance
elsewhere, and get the Free TnCare.
