Hi "T"!
-> Ah! Candace Brightman is indeed a visionary when it comes to lighting
Yep, she is good... spotted a lamp what was getting to go and pointed it
out to me.. must have noticed a different color from it as it was
dying... something like perfect pitch is to music. Amazing!
-> gender predjudice. I have seldom had a chance to work with women on
-> shows, but the few times that I have, have been good experiences. It
-> is sad that the business is so biased towards males, but it is a
-> fact.
True, it is biased towards males, but like Candice, I play a sound
console like a musical instrument, with a background of college music
theory, years of playing in all kinds of ensembles on various
instruments, etc. As long as the console is marked and logically laid
out, I can come up with a real mix in short order with a blend that is
accurate and pleasing to what the musicians are attempting to play.
Especially good with large ensembles like stagebands, pit orchestras fr
musicals and stuff.
When setting up, there may be more capable people but once the show
starts, it will sound close to as good as it can get on that system,
especially with my musical background and ear for things.
