Everybody wants to do the primary mirrors for a telescope (yep, another
boring example of a Dob) while few try do do the seconaries for that scope
and it is rare to find anybody that is doing anything in the way of
eyepiece design and construction.  I say go for the building of eyepieces.
I will note that it will be better if you don't use that full diameter of
the blank but rather build up a bunch of the lenses the size that you need
on a blank, using either pitch or blocking wax, so that you don't waste all
of that glass by cutting out a section in the center of only 10mm or less
when you can make several lenses at the same time. Bob May
