When Mint released 20.0 (Ulyana or something) I upgraded from an existing
installation and had a hardware issue (I think it was my Wifi adapater) but
then I did a fresh install and had the same problem.
To get around it, I installed the latest Ubuntu and the hardware issue was
gone. It seems to me like Mint has omitted support for certain hardware with
that big bad release.
