Anyone care to comment on the recent (Wednesday, June 25, 1997) Supreme
Court decision to overturn the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993?
The Act was passed to overcome a HORRIBLE decision by the Supreme Court in
1990 regarding the use of peyote.
Now the Supreme Court has ruled that Congress overstepped its authority by
passing the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
Whilst I agree that the Act has been used in some OUTRAGEOUS legal claims,
_some_ form of legislative action is needed to overrule the Supreme Court's
1990 decision.
