BG>EP> Money well spent, wouldn't you say? (-: Ernie P.
BG>EP>___
BG>I am not sure, Ernie.
BG>Obviously it was a fight that had to be won and by a good margin.
BG>Winning over the "last" vote usually costs more than winning the
BG>first vote for your side in any contest i.e. the amount of effort it
BG>takes to convince the last hold out voter is significantly more
BG>than the effort it takes to get a "true believer" to go to the polls
BG>and vote. Could we have won as convincing a victory at a much lower
BG>cost, say a two to one margin rather than a 2.5 to 1 margin? How much less
BG>would such a victory have cost in dollar terms, leaving that many more
BG>dollars available for the next campaign? That is the question that NRA/ILA
BG>must address. I am sure I don't have to tell you that resources are not
BG>limitless.

Understood, Brooks. But if the cost of winning is high...the
cost of losing is higher. I keep thinking about how Hitler
refused to increase the production of aircraft early on in WWII;
because he didn't want to have a lot of surplus aircraft laying
around after the war. I can assure you we spent your money well.
