The bottom of the seat did come out.  In fact, I'm not sure we got it back in 
there quite right, so it might come up to visit me the next time I stand on 
the brakes.  :-)  I fully intend to run the wires "correctly" someday, but 
right now I'm just satisfied with what works.  I'm running out of sunny, warm 
days off...

If I read you correctly, I tried that myself but the coax was too short.
Anyway, RSU sent the bracket suggested to me by my friendly courteous helpful 
local RS salestaff and it arrived over the weekend while I was out of town.  
Naturally, it's the wrong bracket.  So I'm returning it at my local RS and 
ordering the one I wanted in the first place...
