Howdy All!
Please forgive the 6 million dollar man subject -- I don't know what got into
me .
I'm in the process of getting back into basic programming after spending a
couple of years programming in Pascal. One of the programs I run is a little
utility which displays a file to folks as they are logging into my BBS which
shows the number of connections by various baud rates. Over the next few
messages I want to post the PB code I've written and get some tips, etc on
how I can make the program run as fast as possible. I've done some
benchmarking using TurboPower's Bench utility and right now my PB version is
much slower than my Pascal version.
Below is a sample of the log file I'm getting the information from. The file
I'm using for testing has 2701 lines in it and looks like this:
+ 10:57:00 Incoming call at 14400 bps, errorlevel 50 + 12:07:06 Incoming
call at 14400 bps, errorlevel 50 + 13:30:53 Incoming call at 24000 bps,
errorlevel 50
