 BM> Hey Carl ...
BM> I've seen the Accelerated Reader program in use. It is a highly
BM> motivating program. Kids who were good readers got better and the
BM> not so good ones also demonstrated increases in reading for
BM> comprehension. Is this in use at your school?
Well it is sorta in use--it is installed on my lan, eventually the reading
lab and library will be connected together to my lab. Then we will be ready
to really begin with the program. The main reading gains are in the lower
level readers, that is most of my school. I have a dream,to make the best
middle school in NM, this is just one of my plans (Accelerated Reader).

I have been reading "Getting Things Done When You Are Not In Charge" by
Geoffrey M. Bellman. Apparently, I have been using some of the ideas in the
book for some time. The software came from a trade in program, I donated the
old Commodore AR program I used in Fifth Grade and got new software. I had to
set the program up on the network and enter names each year, but so far so
good.

Hope to have the BBS up and running, found an ISP for UUCP and newsgroups
also. Lots of work to do tho.
