I think Canada Day celebrates the Act of Dominion in, what? 1868 or so?  My
knowledge of Canadian history is fairly sketchy after the burning of York
in 1813.  (I've seen the flag that flew above the governor's mansion in
York when the American army captured it during the War of 1812; the flag
now hangs in Mahan Hall at the US Naval Academy.  There's a hall devoted to
struck colors, and amidst the Union Jacks taken during the Revolution and
the War of 1812, there's this really impressive looking flag that doesn't
look quite like anything else.  Pretty nifty stuff.)
