Please excuse me Michael, I monitor this conference because my wife was 
adopted, and who is wondering about her past.  There are also other 
conferences that I not only monitor, but actively participate in.  
In these conferences, it is common place for a third party to respond to 
messages between two other persons.  It's done all the time... by myself 
and the others.  It also happens locally on my BBS.  
I believe the word is FORUM.
On our BBS, and on many others I have visited, we do not condone FLAMING,
that is.. any words of a harsh nature.  Perhaps that is what you meant to 
address in this case, rather than "jumping in"???                ~~~~~
