Well a few comments on sightings and one question. First the question, has
anybody put a web cam on thier scope and directed it towards a laptop? if
so, what did you use for software? netmeeting? and what type of cam?

Now for the sightings. I reported a few days ago that I saw a strange
cloud near jupiter. I have an great viewing night tonight and a
streetlight that is out and no cloud. I can only imagine that I got some
type of reflective feedback from the streetlight. I trained the 8"
home made scope onto the planets tonight, jupiter, saturn are wonderful.
decided to search out a few deep space objects, found the orion nebula!!
yes, it is the first time I have seen it with a scope. After viewing such
a wonderful object, I have come to the conclusion, I need a bigger scope.
12-16" at least. The last objects for the night will be the pinwheel
and whirlpool galaxies with luck.
Anybody else care to reflect on and share thier first encounters with
deepspace objects in the viewing field?

look up, look out, look back in time

Charles in wilminton ma
