Thanks to all that replied. Almost everyone suggested checking for
periodicity. Pulley mathematics came out with an eccentric speed of 25.0000
rpm and a turntable speed of 10.9375 rpm. Not periodic but close.
However what matters is the movement of the lap relative to the mirror.
Drive pin location and length of stroke become variables. I routinely
adjust these while figuring so maybe I'm just hitting some kind of harmonic
condition. That would certainly explain what I've been seeing.
