Help! I've been calling SPCUG's Mail Exchange BBS usually the 28800 connect modem, sometime the 14400 connect modem for some months now and from time to time I have difficulty connecting. Sometimes I get through the welcome menus ok but if not within approx 55 seconds from connection I receive a No Carrier Message and I've been dropped! Sometimes I get as far as the bluewave mail area and begin to bundle my mail for downloading and again receive the no carrier message. It seems that the bbs is slow to receive my keystrokes sometimes and again if nothing happens within the first 60 secs. I'm dropped off. After 3 or 4 dropped carrier disconnects I usually connect ok and am able to do my stuff. My modem is a Simple Computing 28800 Vfast and I use mostly WinComm Pro ver 1.1 but if I'm having problems connecting I also try Telix for dos ver 3.22 or Telix for windows ver 1.15a. It doesn't seem to make any difference though which software I use the connection problem remains. WinComm Pro ver 1.1 for Windows initialization string is AT&F0E1V1Q0L3&C1&D2&K3S11=95S38=20S95=2 %C3\N3S7=90 Also It does appear that I only have difficulty connecting to this BBS. btw I'm calling STD from Dubbo. What's going on ??? Can anyone suggest any changes I can make to improve my connection reliability Thanks in advance. ... ... Hey?
