Ga> I use a Banksia MyModem 14.4 with the following initalization
string:

 Ga> AT&FM1L1E1V1&C1&D2%C3S0=0S7=90S24=255

With DOOM and other games you should really turn off error correction
and compression and force a 9600 connect, That's what i do and most
modem games run quite quickly, Connecting to BBS's are another matter
so EC & compression should be on.
